28-8 Hardstyle Mafia - Rockin Da Place (BIR001)(#??)
28-8 Hardstyle Mafia - Rockin Da Place (BIR001)(#??)
Todays vinyl is the first one on Bazz Implant, a sublabel of IMP music wich was leaded by Alphaverb for the first three releases, until there came some discussions/ differences in ideas by the owners of IMP and Alphaverb, after that alphaverb started AVIO records. This one is produced by Hardstyle Mafia, a finnish duo wich make very rough hardstyle.
The a-side contains a great partytrack, namely Rockin Da Place (alphaverb & intractable one remix) It is a great opener for sets if you start it at the vocal right before the mid bangs in "Start rockin the place!" . It has a real alphaverb & intractable one sound wich i love, wich contains of lots of distortion on their basses and very raw sounding elements. The break is lovely too and not very usual for an Bazz Implant/Avio(using this to shorten, not to refer to the new label, just the sound) track. It got a nice womans voice singing about a party in the morning, really appealing to your mind. It remembers me of a q-base morning at open air, its bright daylight, and everyone around you was going nuts for the whole night, before that and still is going wild on the sets. The melody is great too. I think this is a great track, and its good that it got remixed(if that really is, never heard an original mix) by alphaverb and intractable one, wich makes it even more banging! This track later on got remixed again by AVIO, for the Bazz Implant live act at Defqon.1 2008, wich is released digital only at BIR 003.1.
The b-side contains a real Hardstyle mafia track, raw and rough all the way. With badass sounding vocals, wich fit in such an atmosphere. The track starts with a distorted vocal loop, and then builds up. The break of this one is a great one too, im not too fond of the melody but thats fixed by the rest of the track in my opinion. Specially the "whispering" part in the break appeals, and after that the melody comes in greatly with good fitting synths. Overall a great track if you like it dark , hard and raw.
Concluding this review i can say this is a great debute for Hardstyle Mafia and Bazz Implant, wich will be followed by two more bangers. But after Alphaverb left there, the label doesnt appeal much anymore to me (even gone digital only :P)
